Overview
The 20-mile course starts/finishes at Skull Hollow Campground and is the only race at Run The Rock that takes you to the top of Gray Butte. You'll have fantastic views from Mount Adams in Washington State to Mount Bachelor. The course is on 80% singletrack and 20% doubletrack and dirt roads. Total elevation gain is 4,400 feet and 4,400 feet of loss with 4 aid stations.
Description
Starting at Skull Hollow, runners will take
Cole Loop Trail # 854, to
Gray Butte Trail #852, follow the ridge to
Burma Road,
Wolf Tree,
Rim Rock Trail Rope-de
Canyon Trail, cross bridge, left on
River Trail,
Summit Trail,
Gray Butte Trail #852, to the top of Gray Butte. Descend all the way to the FINISH!
There are 4 aid stations along the 50K course. Each will have the usual ultra food selection: chips, PBJ, bananas, oranges, Skout bars, Muir Energy gels, Tailwind electrolyte drink, water, soda and other items. All Alpine Running races are cupless, so be sure to bring a cup with you.
