This trail follows blue diamonds with black arrows. It starts off the west end of the parking area in Wilmington and crosses the road at the bridge. It runs along a stretch that parallels Route 9 to Haystack Road. It turns right and follows the edge of Haystack Road, then travels through an open field.

It travels through the woods for a ways, then crosses over Haystack Road. Here, the trail parallels Haystack Road, then crosses over Chimney Hill Road. The trail eventually comes out onto Forbush Road and follows it northward. Shortly after passing by the Deerfield Ridge, the trail turns right. At the powerlines, the trail turns left to follow them. It descends to Mirror Lake and runs along the eastern edge.

At the gates of the Hermitage Club, the trail turns left and follows Coldbrook Road. At the Dover town line, the trail crosses the road and follows along a fenceline. When the trail reaches Sherwood Forest Trail, it coincides with it to the left. *The signs through this area are misleading; follow the "S" blazes to stay on the Sherwood Forest Trail.

At Crosstown Trail, turn right. Just before the swamp, the trail turns left, following along with the CHOA Trail. It travels moderately, then descends to Kingswood Road. At Kingswood Road, the snowmobile trail leaves right while the Valley Trail follows the road left.

As the trail nears Handle Road, it turns right through a set of stone pillars. It follows this trail to Tannery Road, then crosses over Handle Road. From here, the trail runs all the way to the Mount Snow Ski Area.
