Overview

San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park is a wonderful spot to experience gentle trails through thick Florida forest that is rich with wildlife. While in the area you're bound to see plenty of different bird species, so bringing things like binoculars, a camera, or a bird ID app on your phone are all good options.

While the loop through the park as mapped is rather long at 8 miles, many of the other trails in the park provide ways to create your own shorter loop if that's more appealing.

Need to Know

• Park Hours: 8am-Sunset, 365 days a year.
• Fees: $4 per Vehicle

Description

Starting from the parking area, head north along the Spring Grove Trail as it makes a long loop. Eventually you'll pass intersections with other cutoff trails (useful if you're looking for something shorter), but keep going on Spring Grove until you return to where you started. If you'd like to extend your run from here, a great option is to use the Creek Sink Trail, which loops to the south of the parking area through a different area of the preserve.

Flora & Fauna

Expect birds aplenty in this area!
