Description
A straight, easy to follow, out-and-back from Sattleback Butte SP south camping area. The trailhead is the only one, aside from the dirt road leading to the picnic area, so there's little chance of taking the wrong path. The first mile is a sandy, soft dirt, that's soft on the knees. The incline is gradual enough that most families can do it if they can handle the lack of shade. Those who make it to the top on a clear day can see the whole high desert, from Lancaster to Victorville.
The only way to have a bad time or get lost on this trail is to attempt it when it's hot or come unprepared.
