Need to Know
Portions of this trail are multi-use; please be aware of other users.
Description
This section of the SRK G starts at the intersection of Deer Hill Road and Stoney Brook Road. It runs northbound along Deer Hill Road, following along the
Protectworth Trail. Arc right on the road when you approach Deer Hill Farm. In a short distance from here, the trail passes over a woods road that runs through the Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust (to the left and right). This road is open to multi-use recreation, as well.
At the upper end of Deer Hill Road, arc right onto a Class VI road. There isn't any signage to indicate the name of this road, but the map lists it as McGann Road. In a short distance, there's a very large cellarhole (on the right). Just before turning right onto Nichols Hill Road, look on your left for two small cellarholes. There are decent views through the fields, here. At the next junction, turn left onto Mcalvin Road; follow the snowmobile sign for Webster Pass.
There's a small wetland area where you might be able to catch a glimpse of some otters, just after the snowmobile bridge. Continue to Route 114, where this section of the trail ends.
