Overview

Harwoods, running creeks, sections of pine, side trails to add distance for exploring.

Need to Know

Williamsport Water Authority (WWA) is open dawn to dusk. Plan your trail run/hikes accordingly. Please remember to sign in. Cell reception is spotty here so have a map if you're navigating with it. Let family and friends know your route and that they may not be able to reach you at certain points.

Runner Notes

Pretty much runnable throughout. Will most likely need to power-hike up the trail to Jacks Hollow as it's quite steep. Trail conditions are very good, trails are wide and a combination of wide, grassy trails and dirt. Not a ton of rocks, there are some up/back on the trail to Jacks Hollow so just be aware.

Description

First mile from the lot, hooking a left up along the creek is very wide and flat to a mild incline. Turning to the right to "skirt" Raccoon Trail, this wide trail starts with an easy to moderate incline and then flattens to become a great trail for trail running or walking.

Beautiful hardwoods abound. You descend around mile 3 to the west side of the mountain, where you'll follow the creek to your left. Just after mile 4 you'll start the climb up toward Jacks Hollow Road.

There are a number of side trails you can explore that can hook back to your route if you'd like. Once tagging the top, it's back down to resume the route back to the parking lot.

Flora & Fauna

Pennsylvania hardwoods, some pine, have come across porcupines going about their way. Of course plenty of birding.
