Overview
This route is an out and back with two separate loops attached to it. This route gives a grand tour of the Snowy Mountains. It crests at Medicine Bow Peak at over 12,000 feet. Most of the route is over 10,500 feet and a lot of the trail is rocky. There are not a lot of major climbs but the trail is constantly rolling which makes it a challenge. The scenery is amazing!
Description
There is a trailhead at the North end of the campground. Essentially this run is an out and back on the
North Fork Trail with a figure 8. You can switch up the direction of the figure 8's if you would like. I wanted to get the climb up to Medicine Bow Peak done first. The run did not have giant climbs. But I thought it had a lot of rolling hills which made it hard to get in a good rhythm. In late June there were patches of snow. The snow combined with a rocky trail made this a difficult run.
