Description
This trail begins at the Goodenough Campground. There is a large parking lot and bathroom at the end of the road. It is a good road. The trail starts out gaining a little elevation before hitting a very steep section. The trail crosses a creek 5 or 6 times, but they are all easy crossings that shouldn't involve getting wet. It's a beautiful canyon.
Once you get up about half way, you leave the creek and head up a ridge. A small section will be exposed to sun, but for the most part this trail is very nicely shaded. The trail ends at the saddle between
Scout Mountain and Old Tom Mountain. The views from here are excellent. You also connect to several roads that can take you up to higher mountains to the north or south or to the vast forests to the west.
