Parking is on the honor system. It's a $2/daily fee which can be paid online.

Runners may want to stick to the grass along side of the trails because the trails are currently torn up. Stick to the grassy sides. The trail is poorly marked so watch your GPS map or the Trail Run Project mobile app for unexpected turns.

This trail is easily accessible from Wakiva Park Dr. Park your vehicle at the Katie's Landing entrance and cross the road to the trailhead.

The trail has potential. It is a 4.5-mile loop. There are beautiful views and open fields full of young palms. At the time this was written, the trail is unfortunately poorly marked unlike the other trails in the area. Because of this, I ended up walking down the wrong road or taking wrong turns. There are many unmarked crossroads and satellite images did not show enough detail so I had to guess what turns to make. I've uploaded the trail as seen in the map at Katie's Landing. Hopefully, this will help other people navigate the trail more easily.

Lastly, when I runed the trail, much of the sand trail was unwalkable. Unfortunately, it looks like people have been using the trail for joyrides in their trucks. There are deep divots from truck tires and the trail sands are thrown up on the sides of the road along three-quarters of the trail and you have to run on the side grass for much of it. This trail is definitely marked as a hiking trail and not an offroad vehicle trail. So, I hope the trails get fixed soon.
