Need to Know
There is no camping on any kind in this park on the west side of the Big Sioux River. There is a canoe campsite on the east bank of the river but it is not accessible from the west side except by canoe.
Description
Like the nearby
River View Loop Trail, this trail also forms a loop with the
River Trail and passes around a big bend in the Big Sioux River. In summer, it is a mowed grass and dirt trail that is essentially level. It passes some unusually large trees and you can expect wildflowers in season. Whereas the
River View Loop Trail gives you limited access to the river (you can reach it at low water) , this trail offers views of the river but no easy access.
