Open whenever the Brian Head bike park is open. Lift pass required.
Runner Notes
This trail is part of the Brian Head Bike Park. A lift pass will be needed to ride up to the top. Technically, one should have a pass to hike on the trail, but if not using the lift, it is unlikely that anyone will ask for it.
Description
The trail starts at the top of the Giant Steps Express Lift. Stepping off the lift, the trail starts to the right. Initially the trail co-exists with the Color Flow bike trail, but the two soon split. Beyond this point, there are no bikes allowed on the Vista Trail and no runners allowed on the Color Flow Trail.
The trail meanders down the mountain, following a similar path as the Color Flow Trail, crossing it a few times, but generally out of sight. The frisbee-golf course also follows a nearby route. The trail is generally well signed when needed as it intersects numerous service roads and bike trails.
Towards the bottom, the trail closely parallels the Color Flow and Timberline trails (within sight of each other). Near the end, the trail just kind of fades away. The last sign pointed a vague direction towards the lodge, but the trail seemed to disappear. No worries, the lodge is easily reached cross-country down the hill.
The trail could also be hike uphill for added exercise, but the trail signs seem to be pointed for downhill traffic.
