Description
The Lost Shoe Spur Trail is an alternative route to the meadow trail that brings you closer to Tellico Lake. The trail starts 0.65 miles from the first
Meadow Loop Trail. It is marked by a signpost that may be decorated with hiking footwear and shows the Lost Shoe Spur Trail going off to the right.
The trail is a singletrack dirt trail that meanders through the woods for about a tenth of a mile before it drops down closer to Tellico Lake. In the fall, the woods are lit up with beautiful colors that stand out against the lake. Once the trees drop off the leaves, better views of the lake are available.
The trail levels off for about two tenths of a mile before it climbs briefly back up to the junction with the
Meadow Loop Trail. From here, you can turn to the left and work your way back to your car through the woods or go to the right and explore more of the
Meadow Loop Trail.
Flora & Fauna
Squirrel can be seen scurrying around the woods all around you. As you follow the lake, you may see various ducks and other aquatic birds that call the lake home.
