Description
The trail is entirely paved, from its start at I-90 to its end at Mellot Lane. Starting from I-90, the path has some serious cracks and pavement damage, which can make biking difficult for the first 1/4 mile. Starting at Stonebridge Road (parking near the Elk Foundation) avoids all of it. After passing Stonebridge, the trail winds along Grant Creek, with many small trails leading to the creek edge, great for dogs or kids to explore.
The trail has a T-intersection (go right) before crossing Prospect Drive. After Prospect, the trail crosses Grant Creek on a wide bridge before joining with Grant Creek road. It continues adjacent to the road until the intersection with Old Grant Creek Road, which the path follows with clearly marked signs. After two switchbacks to get back to Grant Creek Road, the path has a few steeper grade sections until its end at Mellot Lane.
Overall a good walking/biking path. Expect a lot of people walking dogs, especially on the lower sections
