Need to Know

The Thorofare is a wide, calm creek connecting Priest Lake and Upper Priest Lake. This trail provides access to the Thorofare from a trailhead parking area.

Description

From the parking area, Portage Trail gently descends through the forest, on a wide path. The path first curves to the left. A while later, it curves to the right to reveal the Thorofare, a wide, calm creek. A few steps later, the launch site is reached. Here is where people launch and land their kayaks, canoes, packrafts, and other small boats.

Flora & Fauna

Mixed conifer forest. Ferns. Wildflowers, including bear grass.
