Overview
Soldier's Trail is an easy, well-maintained loop at Fort Tuthill County Park, ideal for a relaxed hike, run, or bike ride. With little elevation gain and no major viewpoints, it's a smooth, peaceful trail through mature ponderosa forest. The loop is clearly marked and can be done in either direction, offering a peaceful outing without the challenge of steep terrain.
Runner Notes
Stay hydrated. South-facing aspects will be hot. Water is available at the Tuthil Bike Park
Description
The loop can be hiked in either direction, but this description follows the counterclockwise route. You can start from a couple of places, but as mapped here it begins from a dirt lot near the main entrance/exit to the park. For most of it's length the trail is clearly marked with posts and signs, so it's easy to stay on track. Whether you're out for a short dog walk or to hike the full loop, Soldiers Trail offers a peaceful, scenic escape without too much effort.
