Need to Know

You'll have to ford the North Fork American River if you want to connect with the American River Trail.

Description

This follows Little Granite Creek and Big Granite Creek all the way to the North Fork American River. Starting off Huysink Road, the trail descends through dense evergreens for the first 0.8 miles until it reaches Little Granite Creek. Cross the dirt road and junction with Cherry Point Trail #13E22 and follow the trail on the western side of the creek. The trail crosses the creek at 1.3 miles and then stays on the east side. A few steep sections area ahead as the trail rapidly descends to the American River. Cross Big Granite Creek at 3.7 miles and reach a flat area on the north side of the American River after 5 miles.
