Overview

Everglades National Park protects a unique and unparalleled landscape. Spanning 1.5 million acres, the Everglades' wet sawgrass prairies, mangrove swamps, Florida Bay and Gulf Coast estuaries, and dry tropical hardwood hammocks and pinelands provide habitat for a wildlife spectacle like no other. The park is home to numerous rare and endangered species like the manatee, American crocodile, and the elusive Florida panther as well as a host of other wildlife such as turtles, herons, alligators, and dolphins. Visitors can enjoy a multitude of activities including hiking, canoeing, biking, camping, ranger-led programs, tram tours, and boat tours. The opportunities to explore the amazing subtropical wilderness of the Everglades are endless.
