And with a 30-plus mile network of multi-use paths that travel through town and connect to some of the area's most popular trail, it's easy to get out and safely enjoy your surroundings. According to Nat Geo Wild, Sierra Vista’s extraordinary sky island environment ranks as the second most biologically diverse ecosystem on the planet!

Local Info

The Brown Canyon Trail is a great starting point for runners starting to explore the Huachuca Mountains. The San Pedro River offers flatter terrain along a riparian area that serves as a migratory super highway for birds and other wildlife. Ramsey Canyon Preserve, nestled in the slopes of the Huachucas, is internationally known for its uncommon diversity of birds and wildlife. The Arizona Trail also starts just south of Sierra Vista, near the Coronado National Memorial.

Visiting Tips

Any time is a great time to visit Sierra Vista, but the spring and fall months are particularly popular for birders who come to see hundreds of species travel through the area as part of their annual migration. The majority of trails are free for hikers, birders, or mountain bikers. Ramsey Canyon Preserve has a small fee for day passes.

Food & Drink

Hoppin' Grapes offers a fantastic selection of wine and beers, to include some samplings of the local area, which is situated in the heart of Arizona's wine country. Broxton Coffee is a beloved gathering place and serves up delicious coffee and treats. Sierra Vista is a melting pot of cultures and its culinary scene is highlighted by Asian and German influences. Tanuki Sushi Bar & Garden, Indochine Family Restaurant, and the German Cafe are among the standout eateries and have received statewide recognition.
