Granite Lakes [Suggest Edits]
Description
Lower and Upper Granite Lake offers solitude away from the crowd, even on the busiest of days. These snowmelt filled lakes offer the opportunity to relax by an alpine lake, observe various types of wildflowers, and enjoy a quiet afternoon with stunning views of the surrounding area. The water is cold year round, but it offers the opportunity for swimming if you so desire. The hike there offers stunning views of the Cathedral Range, Gaylor Peak, and other peaks in the area.
Short Run: Hike from Tioga Road to the Upper Gaylor Lakes, and then when the trail turns left to go to the Upper Gaylor Lake, go straight and cut across country for about 1/4 mile until you get to lower Granite Lake. Follow the lake shore until you reach upper Granite Lake.
