Description

Getting to Goat Rock is an enjoyable jaunt, and the views that the vantage point provides are stunning. While you're not as high up as you are from the Hot Springs Mountain Tower, the more rugged ascent allows visitors to feel that they've really gotten into the wilderness. The trails in the vicinity are all well maintained, which is part of what makes the overlook so enjoyable.

You'll pass under a lush canopy as you work your way past a series of beautiful novaculite outcrops. As you begin the final ascent to the viewpoint, you'll be able to see the outcrop up close, and the leafy, green canopy will begin to shrink around you. A series of stone steps take you 240 feet to the summit where you'll get your first glimpse of the spectacular views of Indian Mountain.

Take a few moments to take in the sweeping, 360-degree views, as they're quite unique. The forest recedes beneath you, the town of Hot Springs looks tiny, and you'll enjoy the change in perspective!
