Swiftcurrent Falls [Suggest Edits]

If you are visiting Glacier National Park in the hopes of discovering incredible vistas, your trip wouldn't be complete without a visit to Swiftcurrent Lake and the scenic falls at the northwest corner of the lake. Located in the Many Glaciers region of the park, the falls (like the lake that they drain) may not be the biggest in the vicinity, but this area does offer the most spectacular views. This pristine alpine lake, and beautiful, serene waterfall boasts beautiful blue waters, and the surrounding mountains rise nearly 3,000 ft. from the waters' surface. There are excellent views of the Many Glacier Hotel, boat activity in the lake, and of course the surrounding peaks. Come at sunrise or sunset to take home incredible photographs of the area.

Visitors to this part of the park will also be treated to abundant wildlife. Moose, bear, and fish all call the area home, and it's highly likely that visitors will get to see the permanent residents on nearly any outing. The falls and the lake offer a variety of recreation opportunities, and families will find trails to suit casual strolls and longer treks, boating, and many ranger-led programs.
