A high alpine garden with jaw-droppingly amazing views. On the steep hillside above the Schynige Platte Train Station is an extremely scenic, well-tended botanical garden that features thousands of native plants. Everything is labeled and there are other educational displays scattered throughout the grounds. This is your chance to see famous edelweiss growing in the wild!

The manageable maze of twisty paths include some steps to reach the upper areas, but the modest effort is well worth it. Benches are plentiful and well placed to maximize the expansive vistas. The alpengarden is the prime destination for visitors to Schynige Platte who choose not to hike, so this attraction can feel busy at peak times.
