The Graveyard [Suggest Edits]

Description

The Dutch Gap Conservation is home to a collection of leftover derelict barges and boats that were once part of the area's long past mining efforts. The scattered vessels have since turned into unusual islands in the years that passed.

The area was once known as the Cox and Dale Farm.

Short Walk: Although more readily visible by kayak or canoe, The Graveyard between Egret Island and Rose Mallow Point can still be distantly glimpsed from various points around the White Blaze Trail. If you're inclined to get an up-close look, Chesterfield County provides boaters with a self-guided "Lagoon Water Trail" brochure or the opportunity to book private kayak/canoe tours.
