Located at the intersection of Woody Ridge Trail and Mount Mitchell - Black Mountain Crest Trail #179 is this amazing bald. The bald offers great views of the surrounding mountains and is an epic place to camp if you are planning on an overnight outing.
Half-Day Run: Access from Woody Ridge is a 3,100 ft. climb in about 2.4 miles. Access from Bowlens Creek is a 3,200 ft. climb in 4.5 miles. It ain't easy to get to, but it is worth it!
