Sleeping Bear Dunes [Suggest Edits]
Description
The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Seashore is home to towering sand dunes along Lake Michigan's eastern edge. The dunes tower hundreds of feet up from great lake and the top offers views of Little Glen Lake as well as the endless expanse of Lake Michigan. The steep dunes are made of beautiful wind-blown sand, so it doubles as a great beach.
Short Walk: Michigan 109 will take you to the dunes. There are various trails that lead you over the dunes and down to the lakes, or you can just explore on foot.
