Douglas Mountain Stone Tower [Suggest Edits]
Description
Near the summit of Douglas Mountain is a stone tower that provides views of Sebago Lake, nearby mountains, and even views as far as the White Mountains in New Hampshire. On one side of the tower is a staircase the winds its way inside the tower to the commanding view on top. The edge of the tower are protected with a chain link fence and there is a sign that labels the mountains that can be spotted from the top of the tower.
Short Run: There are two main ways up Douglas Mountain to the stone tower. The longer approach is Eagle Scout Trail from the parking lot on Spring Ledge Road. The shorter and more difficult approach is Ledges Trail from Douglas Mountain Road, but there is no parking at this location.
