Mt. Hood from Bald Mountain [Suggest Edits]
Description
This viewpoint has an awesome view of Mt. Hood and the Muddy Fork of the Sandy River. You can see the falls below the glacier and the extremely steep sandy side slopes that give the river its name. You can also see the trail beyond that drops into and then across the large canyon. Trail crews have an extreme challenge to keep a trail tread on these nearly cliff-like slopes. This viewpoint is located in a large, rocky, stable meadow with wildflowers blooming in summer.
Short Run: Access is from Top Spur Trailhead. Check out the Top Spur/Bald Mountain Loop for trail description
