National Creek Falls
[Suggest Edits]
Description
National Creek Falls are fed by year-round springs emerging from the pumice flanks of Mt. Mazama (the mountain that erupted to create Crater Lake) and flow even in drought years. The falls provide a cool, moist oasis in the hot summer heat.
Long Walk: From State Highway 230 six miles north of its junction with State Highway 62, turn right on to paved Forest Road 6530. Cross a bridge over the Rogue River and bear left to stay on paved Forest Road 6530. Continue 3 miles to unpaved Forest Road 6530-300. Turn right and proceed carefully (there are a few big potholes) to the parking area (8-10 vehicles) and signed trailhead at the end of the road. Follow National Creek Falls Trail #1053 down to the base of the falls. Forest Road 6530 may be blocked by snow between November and April.
