Otto's Bathtub [Suggest Edits]
Description
One of the many relics left from the days of John Otto. This is a natural rock feature that Otto added a dam to in order to create a deep pool of water. There are chopped steps that lead down to what once held water after a storm, but the rebar metal is long gone and the steps have eroded substantially (using the steps is not recommended).
Short Run: From the Upper Liberty Cap Trail (about 3.5 miles from the upper or lower trailheads), locate the large cairn on the north side of the trail where the Otto's Bathtub Junction is marked on Hiking Project. Follow the singletrack as it heads towards the slick rock near the cliff's edge. Keep going past a narrow spine of rock with a little scrambling and when you reach a nice broad flat area, look to the left side of the slick rock to find Otto's Bathtub.
