Typical trail in this area of Saguaro National Park
My impression of a giant saguaro.
The giant Saguaro, seen right off trail.
A trail through the lowland desert beneath the Rincon Mountains.
Engelmann prickly pear (Opuntia engelmanni) creates a desert "understory".
Start of the Wildhorse Trail just past the stock-by-pass. Creosotes and Saguaro are in bloom as well as the Cholla and Prickly Pear. At this point you can see the trail is definitely shared with horses. Tanque Verde Ridge and Tanque Verde Peak are in the distance.
A beaut for sure.
