Sometimes downed trees are an obstacle in the winter. The Friends of the Smokies and trail maintenance crews do a great job cleaning up blow downs throughout the year, making it easier for people to enjoy the trails.
Looking into Wear Cove on a cold winter day after a snow storm. Even though the park roads are closed, due to its proximity to the boundary, you can still get out on the trails!
