A tortoise that I saw on the Blue Star trail a few minutes south of the Dairy Barn.
Most of the loop around the lake is forested and shady.

Very low water at the crossing, can be circumnavigated via swinging bridge.
Most of the loop around the lake is forested and shady.
You can scramble right up to the base of the small waterfall in the spillway off the Wild Azalea Trail.

There are several spots where the trail opens up and gives you access to the lake.
