The trail passes through a saddle on the mountain and the trail becomes dirt instead of stairs. The saddle is a good place to rest before continuing your ascent.

Hikers pass through the saddle and continue the ascent to the summit of the mountain.
Roughly .9 miles into the hike, the trail levels off briefly as it passes through a saddle on the mountain.
The Mojave mound cactus blooms in April alongside the trail. The spring is a great time to visit the park to see wildflowers bloom throughout the park.
The trail climbs toward the summit of the mountain. Some cacti and shrubs grow along the mountain top, but there isn't much shade.
