More wildflowers along the trail.
Look at the new spring box at Chilson spring. No water anyplace else nearby, but the spring box was full. Thanks to the team that recently installed this.
It seems that Windsor Spring is totally dry at the end of September. Just moss and rocks.
If you're backpacking on the Y Bar Trail, keep your eyes peeled for good, flat campsites. This was the best we could find, and the minor slope caused some night-time sliding in the tent.
This tree offers an excellent look into the area's history of wildfire. The area is recovering, but as of March 2017 it's still mostly bushes.
