The trail winds through fields of wildflowers in late July.
"Elk exclosures" used by park biologists to study the effects of Yellowstone's browsing animals on the native vegetation. Note the taller grass on the right side, inside the exclosure.
The trail climbs gently uphill on the edge of the forest toward Wraith Falls.

Wraith Falls makes the most of the water in the small stream
When you turn around, you get a nice view of the mountains. Here, snow caps them in the early part of May 2022.
