Looking back down the trail toward the Painted Hills Overlook.
On the backside of the hill, there is more vegetation. The grass is longer and there are more shrubs.
The trail as it climbs the hillside toward a notch in the hills.
Views of a farm outside the monument boundary can be enjoyed from the trail. Cattle, hay, and irrigation fields can be seen from here.
The trail is a mix of gravel, clay and rocks. This trail is narrow, so take care passing other hikers.
The pained hills and surrounding hills stretch out before you.
A bench sits off to the right side of the trail, allowing you to take in the views of Painted Ridge and the surrounding hills.
