The trail looks like this as it goes behind a nearby neighborhood.
While at times it may not feel like it, you get pretty close to the freeway along the trail.
This is typical for the doubletrack portions of the trail as it goes along the freeway.
Take the left fork for the bypass if you want to shorten the trail.
The Slaughter Creek Trail is home to a host of spring wildflowers.
Lots of wildflowers on this trail in the spring.
The Slaughter Creek Trail remains smooth and beautiful about 1/2 mile from the trailhead.
