Along the Green River Trail
Great views of Rainier are common from the Soos Creek Trail.

There are lots of places to sit and have a picnic along the water's edge. If you didn't bring food, the buildings on the right have Kidd Valley and Ivar's restaurants.
Looking north, you can see Mercer Island and Seattle from the trail.
The northern part of the trail offers pleasant views to the main part of the park.
