The view back to Levanto just 0.3 miles or so into the trail... well worth a short meander for those staying in Levanto.
The initial trail is wide and well maintained.
Leaving Levanto you have a nice view of the church and old town wall.
Land of the Cairns as you climb up switchbacks under thick tree canopy
