Eastern Hognose Snake aka "puff adder" crossing the trail in the fall. When confronted, the hognose snake will suck in air; spread the skin around its head and neck, hiss, and lunge pretending to strike. Despite the show, hognose snakes almost never bite.

North of 120th Avenue on a warm October afternoon moving towards the "Forest of Pines."
Go ahead and snowshoe. The trail is marked with yellow blazes on the trees.
Snowshoeing in December in between the old trees on the Wakazoo Trail west of 48th Street.
