Views of Half Moon Bay and the Pacific Ocean spread out below you.
As you climb, you can look back and get views of the farm lands and Pillar Point Naval Station along the Pacific Ocean.
From the beginning of the trail, you can look uphill to see where the trail leads you. As you can tell, there isn't a lot of shade.
While the trail does flatten out at the top, there is quite a climb to get there. Like most trails in the park, you get a good view of the ocean if you turn around.
Beautiful but highly invasive Bermuda Butterscups in farms and low hills above Pillar Point
The top of the trail flattens out and several side trails for mountain bikers connect with the Clipper Ridge Trail. The Flat Top Trail circles to the right and then descends back toward the parking lot.
