Salamander Flat is where the old reservoir for the estate was located. Today, it is a pond for rough-skinned newts.

Two deer walk down the Meadow Trail in the evening, close to sunset. They got off the trail and made their way into the fields in this part of the park.

Between Bear Gulch Trail and Bear Gulch Road, the trail is a singletrack, dirt trail where the vegetation grows close to the trail due to the lack of use.
