At this point up to Rands View, continue on the AT and do not follow the blue blazed trail to an overnight shelter.
A 2.7 mile hike through a thick forest landscape ends with this amazing expanse - Rands View, with Wetauwanchu Mountain on the left, and Bear Mountain and Mount Everett in Massachusetts on the horizon.
The edge of Fangorn Forest in Middle Earth ... nah, this is just off the AT in northwest Connecticut.
