During the cooler months, ice can cover parts of the trail, especially in sections that don't get a lot of sunlight. Even if the weather is warm at lower elevations, you may encounter ice.
The Boulevard Trail offers great views of the Smokies from several points where there are breaks in the trees. No matter what time of year it is, the views are breathtaking.
