Jones Gap Falls base next to the Middle Saluda River off Jones Gap Trail
First part of trail challenging heading east. Second part on ridge becomes easier and wider but because of the first part taking a little long than planned, I finished the trail as it was getting dark.

First part of trail challenging heading east. Second part on ridge becomes easier and wider but because of the first part taking a little long than planned, I finished the trail as it was getting dark.
Not all blaze in trees looking for trail, this part of trail went out by a steep edge maybe not comfortable for some. Provides a great view, overlook areas of trail and behind me was a nice stream running off the slab on my left side the trail crosses.
Hard to research, so here is BC site #P1, no fires, pet friendly, little view behind me is valley area, water access is more limited, small creek near / crossing before camp coming from connector trails (is in-between them), easier if gotten before camp.
This shows trail connecting with 6 & 20 Connector which may be 1 of 2 easier ways to use getting back to Jones Gap then rest of Pinnacle Pass on the right, a little further, becomes challenging again before end / joining Rim of The Gap in about 3.5 miles.
Better wait to have lunch or a snack until after squeezing through this part of the trail. It was unexpected. Had to push day back separately. Yellow blaze on rock.
Damage from storm Irma passing by. Climb down rock ledge currently on to walk behind roots is the trail.
