As the trail levels out, it follows the Roark river for a short distance.

There are a couple of stream crossing that require you to rock hop. Here, it had been raining for a couple of days and the creek was up.
As the trail levels out, it follows the Roark river for a short distance.
Cascades and small waterfalls can be found along the Homesteader trail in several locations.
There are 3 areas where a power line crosses the trail. From this view, you can see where the power lines split. It provides an opening to see the surrounding hills and a break from walking through the woods.
The trail starts to open up as it climbs up the hillside. Views of the surrounding hills open up before you.
A waterfall just past Glade Trail
A series of waterfalls sit off to the right hand side of the trail shortly after getting on the Shane's Shortcut Trail.
