Beautifully layered sandstone carved over millions of years
Some boulders are very inconveniently in the way as you get through Cottonwood Wash.
Sandstone walls in the narrows of Cottonwood Wash
As you approach the end of the hike, the canyon is a bit wider making it easier to walk.
Kayenta and Navajo Sandstone with some volcanic boulders.
Past some of the harder slot sections, Cottonwood Wash opens up.
