The trail is essentially a mowed path along the river as it heads toward the bottom lands where trees grow in abundance.
Looking toward the high plains and the entrance to the historic site.
The Arkansas River runs next to the fort. After an evening of thundershowers, the river runs higher than normal.
A small rabbit sits next to the trail along the marsh. The marsh is a great place to see animals and birds throughout the day.
Bent's Old Fort and the marsh next to it can be seen from the start of the trail.
The trail passes a couple of teepees as it makes its way to the fort.
