There is beauty and color all around, even on the ground.
Why did the chicken cross the road? The trail is wide at this point and works its way uphill through the rain forest.
The 2nd gun battery was flooded after a couple days of rain.
There are a series of stairs that you have to climb along the World War 2 Heritage trail. These date back to the 1940s and allowed soldiers to traverse the ridge line.
Other batteries and fortifications are not as well preserved, but you can definitely tell where the batteries were. The forest has started to reclaim the area.
