Rising above Butte Lake (left to right) are Sunrise Peak, Ash Butte, and Mt. Hoffman. The islands and boulders on the right shore are fantastic lava beds from slow cooling lava of cinder cone eruptions. Looking south from the north end of Butte Lake.
Bathtub Lake, the second small Lake, is passed by Bathtub Lake Trail.

Bathtub Lake, the second small Lake, is passed by Bathtub Lake Trail.
A view of the area's volcanic past can be seen along the trail.
The first little lake is set in the pine forest below Bathtub Lake Trail.
Cinder Cone rises in the distance as the Fantastic Lava Beds come right up to the water. Kayakers, paddleboarders, and fishermen can be seen on the lake.
The trail crosses a dry creaked via two boards and then starts climbing up a hill.
The view from the trail is amazing. You can see where the Fantastic Lava Beds come right up to Butte Lake.
